Slow fashion is a movement that advocates for sustainable, ethical and conscious consumption. It aims to counter the fast fashion industry by encouraging consumers to buy fewer, higher quality pieces that are made to last, rather than purchasing cheap and disposable items that contribute to the cycle of waste and exploitation.
Here at Jodie Lee Jewellery, all pieces are handcrafted by myself, Jodie Nielsen, in my home studio. Every piece is carefully designed and made to last so it can be treasured for years to come as opposed to cheaply made, mass-produced jewellery that is designed to be worn for a very limited time before being discarded. I only use solid 9ct Gold and Solid Sterling Silver to ensure the longevity of the jewellery.
I work on a made-to-order basis opposed to batch/mass production. Each piece of jewellery is carefully made upon ordering especially for each customer. This not only reduces waste, but also means that your jewellery can be passed down through generations, becoming cherished heirlooms that are treasured for their beauty and sentimental value.
